style me pretty

Our Sweet Day in May was featured on the ultimate wedding blog, Style Me Pretty today! To see more photos of our wonderful day visit the post. I planned and designed all of the details myself, including the letterpress invitations, so much fun! I also can’t say enough good things about our wonderful photographer, Yvonne Wong, seriously she’s incredible. The best part of the day though? Marrying my best friend!

Throughout the month of May I will be talking about the details of our wedding, where I found many of our details and the inspiration behind them!

i heart mom

Mother’s day is nearly here! I am always on the lookout for sweet, unique finds when I give a gift, especially to my mom. Here are some of my best ideas for your mom:

one | scarf from JCrew – I love this color, it’s such a beautiful shade of blue and it looks good on everyone!

two | organic milk chocolate from Terrian– Yum & love that beautiful packaging (all you need is a beautiful silky ribbon tied around it!)

three | cocktail ring from Stella and Dot – Love big statement pieces, this one is timeless.

four | metallic runners from Boden – Perfect for everyday and a bit more dressy then a regular old pair of Nike’s…

five | monogrammed pillow from Luxury Monograms – This pillow would be a perfect addition to a big comfy chair. Plus the monogram is unusual, I love it!

six | lettered coffee mugs from Anthropologie – I love the spring colors of these mugs, they have so many adorable uses including a mini-flower pot, a catch all for pens etc. The perfect gift!

seven | ombre vase from Terrain – I love having a variety of vases around, this vase would be so beautiful filled with white tulips. Beautiful!

this weekend

I am still coming off my royal wedding high. What a lovely wedding! I am still dreaming about Kate’s beautiful dress (which made me immediately think of Princess Grace Kelly) and her sweet bouquet. I spent the evening with my good friend Nikki, we made it all the way though the service before we crashed! (we googled the kiss later when we woke up!) I think the draw to this wedding for me is the fairy tail love story element to their romance and the tradition of a monarchy and a country that was on display. I also feel like Kate is the ultimate girl next door, she seems so sweet and down to earth, she even wore a sweet little Zara dress to start her honeymoon weekend the next day! It was a fun night to be a girly girl and think about what it would be like to become a real princess. The bishop at their wedding also made a comment that got me thinking of something even more exciting; we all can have a royal wedding, because for those of us who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, we become sons and daughters of a King, thus we are royalty as well. I love that! What did you think of the wedding this weekend?!
