I recently worked on some calligraphy pieces for a lovely collaboration with Crystal of Bespoke Style Studios. The theme for the editorial was wedding desserts through the four seasons. The editorial is featured in the newest edition of Seattle Met Bride & Groom.
Crystal was the brains behind the styling and prop design, I was able to lend a hand with the paper/calligraphy pieces. It was so fun working with Crystal (who I met while working on her wedding invitations) and seeing our ideas come to life in print. I especially love the sweet details she included, like the cut-out leaves behind the desserts for Autumn! I am so pleased with the shoot, it’s always so fun to see my work in action and just looking at all these desserts makes me hungry! Be sure to check out more of Crystal’s work here!
Also, how beautiful is that cover shot? The image is part of a larger shoot that is featured inside the magazine. The shoot was styled by Steven Moore Designs and photographed by Elizabeth Messina, so lovely, it’s a must see!
Happy New Year! I hope your year is off to a fabulous start! While things have been rather quiet here on the blog, things have been busy busy behind the scenes. I am gearing up for some really lovely weddings and some amazing branding projects for 2013. But it’s about this time of year that I really start to longing for summer, so I thought that I would pop in to share some photos of a wedding invitation project I worked on last summer for a lovely couple.
Alissa and Alan were married in August in a small intimate, backyard wedding ceremony with a Mediterranean feel, designed by Finch and Thistle Events. Alissa was so sweet to work with and I love the final product. The invitations feature a watercolor olive branch wreath with the couple’s monogram. The invitation and reply card were digitally printed on soft white card stock. I love the infusion of summer color with bright green envelopes, white calligraphy lettering (done by yours truly) and vintage postage. I love the simplicity of the invitation set. Congratulations Alissa and Alan; it was a pleasure working on your paper goods!
I thought that I would share our letterpress Christmas cards from this year with you all. I went with a bright cherry red color palette – I am so happy with the way they turned out! They were letterpressed onto thick (I mean really thick) cotton brilliant white cardstock; I then mounted our tree farm photo (taken by our lovely friend Kate Price Photography) onto the card. The envelopes are lined with a fabulous wrapping paper I discovered from Mr. Boddington’s Studio(I pretty much adore all of their products!) and topped off with my calligraphy. I just love so many things about this time of year, but I especially LOVE sending our Christmas greetings and getting cards from all of our loved ones, so fun! Merry Christmas!
