Paris + Typography

I have had a crazy couple of weeks. I am so sorry how sporatic I have been about posting. I have really missed la Happy! My brother is getting married in a little less than two weeks (yay!) so after that event passes things will hopefully slow way down.

So what does all of this have to do with this adorable video? Last night I was running on fumes when my husband showed me this amazing video. I was so smitten. I love love love, I love the typography, the videography…sigh…I just love everything about it. It was a great little break in my evening. I watched this video of Paris then started watching the other adorable videos in the series, it was like a little mini vaca. So go grab a cold diet coke, kick back a take a little vacation at your desk with this sweet little video.

type face love

I get asked a lot, so where can I find some good fonts? Or what are your favorite fonts? So I thought I would start blogging about some great typefaces I use and where you can find them. And I don’t have favorites, that would be too committal for me. I normally favor a font for a few weeks then move on only to rediscover the font weeks later and fall back in type-face love. I have already shared a really neat site called Lost Type Co-OP, to find some beautiful inexpensive/free typefaces in an earlier post, check it out here (they also have released some new typefaces since my last post). Today’s typeface is also a free-bee from The League of Moveable Type, it’s called Ostrich Sans. I just downloaded this so I haven’t had a chance to use it yet, but I am excited to, especially  the dashed option.

Sorry I have been a bit sporadic in posting lately. I have been oh so busy with some fun projects, which I can’t wait to share with you all!

1950s European Luggage Tags

Here is some more design inspiration for you all. I ran across these vintage Swiss luggage tags on Flickr I about passed out I love them so much. I love this style of design, especially the clean simple typefaces. They were gathered and complied by a fellow designer, check out more inspiration oh his Flickr stream here.
