Earlier this week I was featured on Style Me Pretty with some of my lovely friends. I was over the moon with every detail of this inspiration shoot, shot at Bob’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Farm. It was shot by my incredibly talented friend Chantal Andrea, seriously her photography eye is amazing. It was styled and all the floral was done by my new sweet, lovely, talented friend Rachel from Finch and Thistle Events, if you are looking for a florist/event stylist book her, I would unreservedly trust her with my wedding…(and that’s saying a lot)… The food was provided by a local Seattle favorite Ravishing Radish and yes, it was as yummy as it looks. The makeup (and model styling) by Jenny Bowker was also so beautiful. What a fun day with some talented professionals….
And of course all the paper goods were designed by me. I was finally able to properly showcase the beautiful white calligraphy I have been playing around with. Also, I love the details like the plaid on the back of all the paper pieces…it’s those small details that are so important. Check out some more of my work from the shoot below. Like what you see? Contact me, I would love to chat with you about your project!
Happy Monday! Today I wanted to share one of my favorite colors for fall, orange ! I can’t get enough of it, especially when paired with a nude or neutral shade. These are some of my orangey favorites! I would love to hear what colors everyone else is loving this fall!
If you want more, I share fun photos, updates and tid bits on Facebook, come join the fun! Hope your week gets off to a lovely start!
Don’t get me wrong, I love celebrating holidays. Halloween is just a weird/scary/creepy holiday, in my opinion. I have always been a bit creeped out that people want to celebrate all things evil/dark/dead by making scary decorations, putting on freaky costumes. That’s just not for me. I do love pumpkins and the rich colors of Autumn however and so here are some decoration ideas I love for Halloween (and no, I am not that person who turns off all my lights and doesn’t put candy out and I DO like cute/silly costumes)…
I have made the glittered pumpkins (right) for a couple of years now and they are really lovely (and easy). I use a more subtle neutral colored glitter – so pretty. I also love the colored baby pumpkins on the covered cake stands. Such a sophisticated look.
I recently ran across this pumpkin idea in Country Living: covering a pumpkin with wallpaper, paper or fabric. I love this idea especially because the toile pumpkin (love!) is faux, so you can use it year after year (love that!). I love vintage type and imagery; what a great use for your vintage thrift store books!
…and of course my favorite item to make a house feel homey… a wreath! The wreath on the left is up in my shop. I made it from a vintage Gray’s Anatomy book and hug it from a silky black ribbon – I love it! (…way better then a hanging skeleton!) I also ran across this wreath made of candy – so adorable and very apropo for tricker-or-treaters.
