hostess with the mostess

Oh etiquette you are considered so out dated and such a select few of us still appreciate you. I’m not sure about you, but I think etiquette is important and a sad loss for our society that more people don’t really. So when people do show regard for proper etiquette, I really appreciate their indulgence of such a lost art. On New Years, my husband and I thew a sweet little New Years shindig, my brother and his girlfriend brought over some sweet little ikat bowls as a hostess gift, I thought how thoughtful and very apropos of them. I also appreciated my friend Sam’s thoughts here, on bringing a hostess gift to a friends home. Here’s the thing if someone is going to go to the effort to open up their home to you and entertain you, I think it’s thoughtful to bring something small over as a way to say thank you, I appreciate your hospitality!

When my friend Sam texted me asking me if I had any ideas for hostess gifts under $10 the challenge was on! So here are my fabulous hostess gift finds for $10 or less…

According to the Emily Post Institute, it is considered proper to bring a small gift when you attend a dinner party. The Institute suggests keeping your hostess gift simple and limiting your budget to $25 (see these finds for $10 and under really are incredible!) or less.
