Christmas is a perfect time for me to indulge in my sparkle habit. What can I say I love glitter, sparkles and all things with twinkly goodness… So in honor of that here are some finds (with a bit of sparkle) that I am loving for this Christmas Season!
Images: peach dress (wouldn’t it be so cute with black tights for christmas dinner?) via Dolly Pearl, glitter ribbon (my favorite way to wrap gifts for Christmas) via Caramelos, starry string lights via Restoration Hardware, striped shirt via JCrew, art deco bracelet via Anthropologie, vintage christmas card via Daisygirl Flickr Stream
I love this velvet ribbon and glitter tag wrapping. Images via AmbrosiaGirl find her instructions there as well.
Thanksgiving is tomorrow! This is about the time I always start freaking out as inevitably the holiday has snuck up on me and I am scrambling for easy last minute DIY’s for my table, that don’t look too “crafty” and have a level of sophistication to them. So I thought that I would share some of my favorites with you.
This table runner idea is so easy to do and is so beautiful. All you need is a book you are willing to rip pages out of (preferably vintage with those beautifully yellowed pages and it always helps to have a book that people have read it stirs up conversations) and a craft punch like this one.
I love this (easy!) glittered (my one of my favorite colors is after all glitter) corn centerpiece. It would look so beautiful displayed with richly colored gourds. I collect various tall gold/brass candle sticks at thrift stores (believe me every thrift store has them in abundance…) they (the candle sticks) would make a perfect addition to the glittered corn centerpiece.
Another easy trick is to use miss-matched vintage plates (or non-vintage plates) on your table. If you don’t have enough, again the thrift store may be your best friend today. Run out and grab a few plates with various patterns.
I love this banner idea! If you don’t have glitter handy (or your not really into glitter…) the letters would look really beautiful painted brown or a deep coral orange. If you don’t have time to run out and get letters print out easy to cut letters as a stencil and make the letters from cardboard.
And last but not least when in doubt or in a pinch, use pumpkins, gourds and squashes…lots of them…
Hope you all have a Happy and lovely Thanksgiving!
I fell in LOVE with these candles, made from melted crayons, when I ran across them a few weeks back. I want make them for our front entry way using the white candles I picked up at Ikea awhile back (best deal ever, they even drip so beautifully!). I have an old farm table that I purchased for our wedding alter that I want to set them on. I think I am going to do coral hues. I can’t wait to get started! I also think this would be a beautiful idea for a wedding center-piece, especially on long banquet tables…Love!
But first I need to go out a-thrifting for a used crock pot. We have a crock pot but I don’t really want to use our eating crock pot for crafting, so once I score a crock pot I be working away on this project. The instructions are fairly easy and available from Martha Stewart. Once I get going on the project I will post photos to Facebook. I am trying to get better about putting work away on the weekends and working on fun projects like this one. I love, what do you think?!
