we wish you a merry christmas

lahappy_christmascard_2012_7

I thought that I would share our  letterpress Christmas cards from this year with you all. I went with a bright cherry red color palette – I am so happy with the way they turned out! They were letterpressed onto thick (I mean really thick) cotton brilliant white cardstock; I then mounted our tree farm photo (taken by  our lovely friend Kate Price Photography) onto the card. The envelopes are lined with a fabulous wrapping paper I discovered from Mr. Boddington’s Studio (I pretty much adore all of their products!) and topped off with my calligraphy. I just love so many things about this time of year, but I especially LOVE sending our Christmas greetings and getting cards from all of our loved ones, so fun! Merry Christmas!

New Modern Calligraphy Style

Hello! I want to introduce you all to a new calligraphy style I have been working on, a modern style with no curls…it’s a breath of fresh calligraphy air! I have long been a calligrapher who loves a good formal lettering style, now I am loving this modern style as well. The more paper goods I calligraphy this style onto, the more and more I love it! It’s clean, beautiful and non-fussy. I think it would be a beautiful style for wedding invitations as well as envelope addressing.

Wood Invitations and Calligraphy Details + Style Me Pretty

These lovely real (yes, real!) wood invitations (and other handlettered wood elements) I designed were recently featured on Style Me Pretty as part of an editorial shoot I collaborated on with some other  talented vendors. What a perfect way to bring a bit of the outdoors and a natural, organic feel into your wedding. I packaged them in mailable boxes (with calligraphied addresses and vintage postage, of course!) and tied of the invitations (and the other paper details) with silk hand dipped mustard yellow ombre ribbons. The whole set is just so lovely, I was so pleased with the final product.

The wood invitations were stamped in white ink with a custom made rubber stamp. I also incorporated kraft paper into the set with a flat cream cardstock as a contrasting texture, color.

…And can we talk about the bridal gown?! I am in LOVE with that dress!

Here is the entire paper suite for the shoot… Are you looking for custom invitations and coordinating pieces for your own wedding or event? Let’s chat!
