a little minted love

Every once in awhile (okay almost everyday), I have a new design idea that I want to get out of my head and onto my Illustrator screen. For those moments there is a lovely outlet for me called Minted. Now typically I think crowd-sourcing for design is kind of a rip off for designers, but I have to say that I think the process of designing things out of my typical design aesthetic has been really beneficial for me. I think stretching my design muscle outside of my regular projects when I have a few free moments has made me a more creative designer and has even helped clarify my design point of view. A  month or so ago my first design went up for sale (so if you’re looking for graduation announcements, there you go!)… Last week I posted some new designs for the Christmas card challenge. I’d love to know what you think and if you have a second of it, I would really appreciate your votes for my submissions!

Library Card Menus

Coming soon to my little shop (along with my new line of invitations!) are these sweet little custom menu cards, which were recently featured over at Seattle Bride Magazine. I just go weak at the knees for vintage touches at any event, what a perfect way to go vintage, library cards. These letterpress cards are just adorable. The menu was stamped on with a custom rubber stamp, calligraphied with the bride and groom’s names and then tied off with a little twine! I just love small little vintage touches like this, they are unexpected details that guests love! If you are interested in these cards for your event let’s talk!
